The Next Trend After Web 2.0, What Is It?

Over a year ago I did a search for “mlm” on YouTube and one of the first results I got was a video by Dennis Karganilla. In this video he expressed his surprise at why no network marketers used YouTube videos to promote their mlm business since it was and still is to this day one of the most visited sites in the world.

Here is his first video on the subject: How To Get Free MLM Leads + Traffic Secrets! (Vol. 1)

I was very intrigued by what he had to say, and almost immediately I uploaded my first YouTube video promoting Xs Energy Drink and I created a MySpace page promoting my Quixtar business. Unfortunately, since Xs is a Quixtar product and Quixtar doesn’t allow their distributors to make any advertisements online, my distributor number (ibo number) was suspended for not following “the rules of conduct”. This particular rule was one of the reasons I eventually decided to leave Quixtar to join Isagenix. In the short time that my video staid online I actually started to see some results such as sales of Xs and other products and people inquiring about the Quixtar opportunity. Dennis was right, and he was the first one to realize that Web 2.0 technology such as YouTube and myspace was going to become the next trend, and whoever decided to take advantage of it was going to benefit greatly. It is humorous to see big mlm gurus like Ty Tribble send out success news letters talking about using web 2.0 a year after Dennis discovered it.

A few videos later Dennis unveiled his product: “MLMGoldmine“. This product was designed to help you make YouTube videos, MySpace profiles… etc., in order to attract other network marketers to buy MLMGoldmine and hopefully join you in your MLM. If I remember correctly it went for about $500 and shortly after it went up to$1500. I didn’t buy the program simply because I don’t believe in growing an mlm business mainly by cross recruiting people from other mlm companies. Regardless of what my opinion is on the whole product that Dennis offered, the general idea was and still is great.

As time went on a lot of network marketers bought MLMGoldMine and they started to dominate YouTube, MySpace and other video sharing sites as well online social networks in the mlm category. In 4 short months Dennis claimed to have made $400,000 in sales. And in 10 months a whopping $1.4 million.

Here are a couple of videos from Dennis’s esteemed students:

For the last few weeks if not for almost a month Dennis didn’t post any new videos to his YouTube channel, which got me very curious as to what he was up to. And the latest video up on the channel didn’t sound too encouraging.

At last, on February 18, 2008, Dennis posted a new video in which he announces that MLMGoldMine is going off the shelves on March 20th 2008. Reason being: There is another trend coming.

He also edited his YouTube channel. Here is the highlight of the edited version:

“The History Behind MLM Gold Mine — How It All Started!
There’s a new emerging trend taking place in the marketplace… and it’s gone completely ‘under-the-radar’.

It has nothing to do with videos on YouTube. It has nothing to do with social networks like MySpace or Facebook. And it has nothing to do with Ron Paul or Scientology.

There’s something else, another trend, lingering around in the shadows of all the media hype behind Web 2.0 and social marketing.

Google is already preparing for it. Microsoft and Yahoo are preparing for it. Even Apple and Steve Jobs are preparing for this new emerging trend as well.

You have been ‘WARNED’.

If you want to stay ahead… ‘SUBSCRIBE’ to my YouTube channel right now before it’s too late.

This may be the best chance for the little guy to actually strike it ‘rich’.

So if you want to learn more, you must ‘SUBSCRIBE’ to my YouTube channel right now!

So what’s Dennis up to? What is the next trend? Feel free to comment.

I think he’s an internet snake-oil salesman.

By the way, there are real and legitimate reasons why Amway/Quixtar controls advertising, including internet advertising.

Most other companies don’t have a nearly 50 year/multi-billion dollar/year reputation to protect. Not only is A/Q interested in this, but they are also interested in providing a level playing field for all IBO’s.

These issues make it understandably frustrating to those who are technically capable.

However, A/Q provides web individual web sites that can be used by IBO’s. Although these sites may not meet all the needs/desires of IBO’s, it is a start that could be the foundation of additional web presence advertising/informational capabilities. There are also various other A/Q product and opportunity videos available online.

Sorry but A/Q only started to care about its reputation online in the past 1-2 years. Do a google search for A/Q and you get several corp. sites doing spin work and several sites that are extremely negative. IBOs for years have asked Amway / Quixtar to do something about the negative on the web and the IBOs have gotten a deaf ear to the subject. Now that THEIR business is in jeapordy are they doing something about the negatives. They never cared about the IBOs business until they started to lose a ton of $$ in 07.

There are many better opportunities out there to make money. If you are looking for a site just to shop from then Quixtar has a great variety of product lines (very pricey though). If you want to build a business and make money then look somewhere else.

Dennis certainly pioneered using YouTube, but to suggest that he invented web 2.0 (even related to Network Marketing) is not reality.

In October of 2003, I launched the MLM Blog site. Blogs were probably some of the first web 2.0 sites on the net. They allowed content to be posted and user interaction.

So, I admire what Dennis has done but to suggest that I am some guru, jumping on the bandwagen would probably be misleading.

You hit the nail on the hit with Amway/Quixtar….keep up the good work with this blog and keep in touch.

All the best!

Ty
